Do you cry?  Over…

Loss of a loved one…

Failure to get a good grade…

A friend’s suffering…

Loss of a pet…

Failure to get a desired job…

Loss of your reputation…

The hurt of an un-reconciled relationship…

The pain associated with physical hurt…

A person’s refusal to hear and learn about God…

“Jesus Wept”  John 11:35

Go ahead and cry—tears are alright.  Jesus wept over the sorrow that was hurting the hearts of his friends and the pain associated with loss.  It’s OK…CRY!  And then call out to Jesus for healing of the sorrow and pain.  He understands.

Promises

…”He has granted to us His precious and very great promises…” 2 Peter 1:4

Have you ever said:

            I promise…to be home by 5.

            I promise…to clean my room.

            I promise…to stop eating junk food.

            I promise…to help grandma after school.

            I promise…to go to the store for you.

I promise…to love you always.

I promise…to start a new diet tomorrow.

Or you fill in the blank.  What have you promised yourself or someone else?

How is that going for you?

We make promises.  We break promises.

BUT GOD, is a promise keeping God.  He never lies and He always keeps His Word. He has granted to us His precious promises and He will never fail.

Check out some of His promises from the Bible:

I will never leave you, Hebrews 13:5

I have plans to prosper you, Jeremiah 29:11

I hear your prayers, Jeremiah 33:3

I will give you peace, John 14:27

I always love you, John 15:10

Now go find more promises—the Bible is full of them.  These precious promises are written for you.  Fill up your mind and heart with them this week.  I PROMISE…you won’t regret it!

Ephesians 4:1-3

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”  Ephesians 4:1-3

I always need this reminder that I am here to be an ambassador of Christ walking, talking, acting, living, teaching, and thinking as Him.  I need to be told regularly to walk worthy of the calling as His ambassador.  I need to have the Holy Spirit fill me daily with characteristics of Jesus Christ as mentioned in these verses so that others will see me as His child endeavoring to live as He would and to maintain the unity of the Spirit peacefully among those around me.  WOW—this is a message that is needed for the world today.  Join me, my fellow believers in Jesus Christ, as  together we walk worthy of the job set before us to be His examples to others.  Pray for each other to walk humbly and gently in community.  Pray for patience and bearing with each other in the midst of the stresses of this life.  And ask the Lord to help you to live peacefully among your neighbors, your friends, family, and those who may not know Jesus Christ.

WALK WORTHY, MY FRIENDS!

Proverbs 3:5-6

I picked Proverbs 3:5-6 for my 2021 verses because quite simply God promises that He will be with us and make our paths straight.  I need Him to direct my paths, so it is a  comfort to me to know He will help me to keep on the right course when I submit myself to Him.

Isaiah 43:11-13

“I, I am the LORD,

And besides Me there is no savior.

I declared and saved and proclaimed,

when there was no strange god among you;

and you are my witnesses,” declares the LORD,

“and I am God.

Also henceforth I am He;

there is none who can deliver from my hand;

I work, and who can turn it back?”

We experienced 2020 which was a very strange, unpredictable year.  I picked these verses for the year 2021 because they give me confidence that God is the only true Lord and Savior of mankind.  We can know and believe God planned this all out to make us grow in Him. He is the only one who can save us from anything; politicians cannot, nor can doctors, although many are doing what they can to help. Over the last few years, this past year especially, we’ve been relying too much on people, and not enough on Him. All the unrest and sickness and death in the world is happening for His glory, to turn hearts to Him. His hand is upon us and the entire world, and we must put our trust in Him to keep us safe while praying for wisdom regarding what to do in the midst of all this.
