SEEKERS, 1st – 2nd grade
“GOD IS MY FRIEND”
God is our Friend even when we’ve done things wrong, deliberately disobeyed, or failed at a task or responsibility. His love towards us never ends and He is always there to see us through, pick us up and help us try again. He is a true Friend! He wants us to be the same kind of friend to others: Our friends as well as acquaintances.
John 15:12, “This is My commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you,” is the memory verse for this unit. God has commanded us to love others at all times just as He does. He knows that will be hard for us and that is why He gave us Himself as the example of how to love.
The Friendship or First Aid Activity rounds out this unit to give Seekers practical application of how to be a friend.
ABIDERS, 3rd – 4th grade
Presented this year are truths about the Bible, how to grow through Bible study and prayer, learning how to be a witness for the Lord, and understanding how to have courage to stand strong for the Lord.
DISCOVERERS, 5th – 6th grade
“Trusting God’s Plan and Power”
God’s protection and guidance of Israel is seen in Moses’ life from his birth through the crossing of the Red Sea. As we study Moses’ life we learn that God can use our home life, education, and experiences in service to Him. We see that God never leaves us on our own, but is always there to show His power on our behalf for His glory.
The memory verse in this unit is John 15:16, “Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…” As God chose Moses from birth to lead His people Israel, so He has a plan for each of our lives in service for Him.
Hiking and Weaving are the activity choices for this unit. The Israelites hiked through the wilderness for 40 years with Moses as their leader and God as their guide. The Israelites also wove mats and materials for the Tabernacle during their journey.
CHALLENGERS, 7th – 9th grade
“God Is My Creator”
This unit will explore the characteristic of God as Creator. He has designed His creation, and especially us, with intimate care and involvement. Challengers will discover what it means to be made in God’s
image, that they belong to God, that their purpose is to glorify God by doing the good works He has planned for them and that they are competent in the gifts and abilities God has strengthened them to do (Philippians 4:13).
The verses chosen for this unit will remind Challengers that they are precious creations of God and have been designed to do the good works God has preplanned for each of them. Psalm 139:14,“I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Thy works, and that my soul knows right well.” Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.”
The Woodcraft and Homemaker awards are the two activities from which to choose. They both require Challengers to work with their hands to design and create things that will bring themselves and others pleasure.
CONQUERORS, 10th – 12th grade
This unit will introduce students to the theme of the year; The Heart of Jesus. Jesus’ heart characteristics will be presented and Conquerors will be encouraged to model their lives after Him. A heart like Jesus is one that is controlled by Him.
