In addition to all of that Xcellent curriculum, EG Ministries, Inc. has created a Resource Activity Guide that will enhance any children’s program!
Just imagine….
We live in Pennsylvania. It’s February, we have 4 children ages 4-12 and we home school. For some of you, that is enough to paint the picture of my mental state: No sunshine for days, the 12 year old has had it with math, the 8 year old is “baking” (in quotes because I think there is an oven involved under all the flour in the kitchen, but I’m not 100% sure), the 6 year old wants to help the 8 year old (Miss Independent) and the 4 year old has an ear infection. The laundry has piled up so high that the kids now think it is part of an indoor climbing gym (at least they are getting some exercise!) We’ve resorted to using paper products for most meals; it’s just simpler, and we can teach them a little about recycling. My husband is the most understanding man in the universe, (oh, by the way, note to self: 6 year old needs paper-mache’ to make the solar system on Tuesday) but even the most understanding man gets cranky this time of year. Nerves are frazzled, patience is thin, and energy is drained. We need something that will help us refocus, lift our spirits and build community into our gray day. It would be great to have one activity that all of us could do together to keep learning and growing together as a family.
Has this scene happened in your home? Or maybe you are an after-school program director, a girls’ or boys’ club director, a youth group leader, a teen mentor, a children’s program coordinator for your church? You may be a family with multi-leveled/multi-aged children. If you work with children of various ages, this resource book, published by EG Ministries, Inc., is a fantastic tool filled with hundreds of activity ideas from Archeology to Weaving to use with children ages pre-school through high school. No need to “brainstorm” for an activity that will encompass all your age groups. No need to think “How can I include the 4 year old with the older kids?” It’s all here at your fingertips, ready to excite and unite your children.
This resource manual has been compiled by EG Ministries, Inc. home of Explorer Girls and Xtreme Xplorers. The ministry was founded in 1982 and exists to honor and glorify God by fulfilling the great commission. If you would like more information about EG Ministries, Inc., please contact us.
