Truth

July 4th celebrations declaring Freedom.

Parties among friends,

Family gatherings,

Outdoor events,

Indoor events,

Food and more food

It was the 4th of July in America.

 

BUT we are only truly FREE when we believe in the TRUTH.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the TRUTH and the life.  No one comes

To the Father except through me.”  John 14:6.

 

He is the only real, non-negotiable Truth. 

He died…He lives

He is perfect…He never sinned

He is the real deal Truth.  There is no other.

 

On one day, the 4th, we celebrate a country free from many things

but the lasting celebration is a person’s spirit set free by the Truth.

 

…and you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.  John 8:32

 

OLYMPICS

Can you name some summer Olympic sports?

There are a lot of them:

Swimming…

Equestrian…

Gymnastics…

Cycling…

Beach Volleyball…

Triathlon…

And many, many more.  Even some new ones are added this year like:

Skateboarding, baseball/softball, and karate.

What do ALL of the Olympic sports have in common?

Everyone is trying to reach a goal…to get the prize.   

The Apostle Paul said this:  “One thing I do; forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”      Philippians 3:13 & 14.

Good advice!  Focus on God…put the past behind…move forward toward the prize that will be given because we are in Christ Jesus.  Be an Olympian for Jesus!

 

 

 

 

In the Image of God

Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in His image, in the image of God He created him…”

Psalm 139:14, “…I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

I learned this year in Explorer Girls that I am made in the image of God.  God created me in His image and that is really important and special.  This means that I should treat everyone with kindness and not be insulting or harsh with them because they are made in the image of God.  I should not think of myself as ugly or anyone else no matter what they look like.  I am made wonderfully by God.  I liked learning about this and I think it is important for me to remember and everyone else.

HE SEES…

When you are at school

when you are with your friends

when you are at home

when you are with your siblings

when you are out on a date

when you are at work

when you are in the hospital

when you are on social media

 

“For the EYES of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9.

HE is El Roi—The God who sees.  HE SEES…all the time!

 

 

Dare to be a Daniel

“Dare to be a Daniel

Dare to stand alone

Dare to have a purpose firm

Dare to make it known”

This chorus came to my mind this morning.  Daniel, in the Bible, was a man of purpose and strength.  He believed in the power of His living God and He lived His life trusting God for everything.

Ask yourself these questions…

How much do I stand on the purposes of God?

How much do I trust the plan of God?

Can I put my name in that space in the song?

Something to think about…go be the one who stands alone for the living God and makes it known!!!
