1 Peter 2:5

Ephesians 2:20b

“…Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone.”

1 Peter 2:6b

“…a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

Stones are different in shapes and colors.

Stones can be bright and shiny while others are dull and earthy.

Stones are igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic in origin.

Stones are mostly used for construction projects.

Stones may be used to decorate a garden.

Stones can skim across the water when skillfully thrown.

Stones are durable, attractive, and highly valued.

In the Bible, we learn that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone which holds the whole building together.   God put this chosen stone, the precious cornerstone in place so that we who believe in Jesus may be built up together into a dwelling place, a spiritual house for God by the Spirit.

So, shine little stone.  You are durable, attractive, and highly valued by God.

1 Peter 2:5

“You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

Storms

When you pass through the waters,

I WILL BE WITH YOU;

And when you pass through the rivers,

They will sweep over you.

Isaiah 43:2

Tornadoes,

Hurricanes,

Straight line winds,

Tempestuous seas,

Blizzards,

140 hour winds,

STORMS…

The physical storms beat down on us without us having any control of the situations.

We have to go through them and many times we are extremely fearful in the midst of the roaring gales.

BUT GOD says that when those times of terror come upon us, HE IS WITH US!!!

He is the one who walked on the water.  He is the one who calmed the winds and the waves.

Do not fear—in the midst of the storm—though there are waters and rivers that look overwhelming, take heart—HE IS WITH YOU.

Who Can I Trust?

Have you ever asked yourself that question?

People let us down and fail us which leaves us wounded and hurt.

How can I find someone who is trustworthy?

In this world we have to trust different people and things.  We have to trust the traffic light then when it is red everyone will stop.  When it turns green we have to go.  We trust the bank to keep our money safe.  We trust our teachers to give us the truth in the subjects about which we are learning.

All through the Bible, we learn that there is only one TRUSTWORTHY person—God.  There are many verses in the Bible that tell us to trust God.

We trust His Word, the Bible, to give us truth about ourselves and about God.

The Bible teaches us to trust in God always.  He is the only faithful, never failing person who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

So read this, believe it, claim it, and do it:  “Trust in the Lord with all your Heart, and do not lean on  your own understanding.”  Proverbs 3:5

Psalm 139

Have you ever simply sat and watched people go by you?

On the beach

At the Mall

At a park

On the Boardwalk

In your neighborhood?

You’re watching:

2 legs, 2 arms

10 fingers

10 toes

206 bones

6 major chemicals (They make up 99% of the body.)

5 major organs (Can you name them?)

Skin (8 pounds, or 22 square feet!)

Laminin (A protein:  Look it up, AMAZING!  Seriously, Google it!)

Walking

Talking

Running

Scratching

Eating

Laughing

How does that even work?  All those elements make up a LIVING machine!  A human being, an incredible creation!

Psalm 139 (The whole Psalm is great reading!)

13  For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

    your works are wonderful,

    I know that full well.

God
