EG Camp Day 1

Each day at camp the girls will have Bible Time in the morning. Come along with me to see what EG Camp Day 1 will look like…

God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light. God saw that the light was good. He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day.” He called the darkness “night”. There was evening, and there was morning. It was Day One. Genesis 1:3-5

Did you notice that light was created just because — GOD SAID! God is so powerful that He didn’t need anything to make light. He spoke and light existed.

Done!

This light is not a light from a source like the sun, nor is it a star, or a moon, or anything else in space. It is just light, in and of itself.

Did you know…

  1. Nothing is faster than light! By the time you say “WOW!” a light particle has traveled from here to the moon! 1.25 seconds to go 200,000 miles!! That’s fast!!
  2. Light travels in a straight path; it cannot go around things. If you shine a flashlight on an object in front of a wall, the object will block the light creating a shadow, or darkness — the absence of light. Go ahead, try it!

Fast forward to the year 2023, and we have something like three-million days and counting.

But, it all began on Day One when God began to create!

Ephesians 5:8

for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

CAMP 2023

is just around the corner. 51 girls and 27 staff will converge on Victory Valley Camp for fun in the sun and LOTS of learning about Jesus! Our theme this year is LORD OF CREATION. The girls will be sharing in loads of activities, Bible times, and enjoying God’s great outdoors.

They will be challenged to learn Scripture and I would like to invite you to join us! The memory passage for the week is Psalm 8. Read it,  print it out and put it on your mirror or in your Bible, think about it and memorize it with us.

1 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory above the heavens.

2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,

you have established strength because of your foes,

to still the enemy and the avenger.

3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,

and the son of man that you care for him?

5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings[b]

and crowned him with glory and honor.

6 You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;

you have put all things under his feet,

7 all sheep and oxen,

and also the beasts of the field,

8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,

whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

To all of our Prayer Warriors, you are now on alert! We covet each of your prayers for a camp week full of blessings! Have a great week!

Be a Friend

We’re in the process of revising some of our devotionals and we have one called “The Hidden Hand”. It’s about the book of Esther. If you’ve read it, you’ll see that no where in this scripture is mentioned the name of God but He is boldly working throughout every verse and chapter.

For me, the best verse in the narrative is Esther 4:14 “For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

“For such a time as this”; what a great opportunity she had. What a great opportunity we have!

Do you know someone who is grieving the loss of a loved one?

A friend who is in need of a friend?

Someone who might need a meal, a ride, help with shopping, some company?

Some small repairs that they can’t manage, changing ceiling light bulbs or new batteries in smoke detectors.

You could be there for them, in such a time as this.

Allow God to boldly work through you, your bounty and your talents.

Be a friend, provide a hand, a meal or just a listening ear.

Matthew 25:40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
